Pipeline Utility
Energy products delivered by pipeline include crude oil, refined products such as gasoline and diesel, and natural gas liquids such as ethane and propane. These products are carried from the wellhead to refineries, terminals or distribution points.
The main advantage of transporting energy products by pipeline is that it is one of the safest methods of transporting these materials. The pipelines are buried underground, so there is no risk of them being damaged by weather conditions or other external factors. In addition, the pipelines are very durable; they can last for decades with minimal maintenance work required.
