Bulletin Overview
The Department of Defense (DoD), in an effort to establish uniform safety standards applicable to ammunition and explosives under its jurisdiction, issued the DoD Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards (directive 6055.9) on 10/5/2004. The standards, through their system of hazard classification, provide protection criteria to minimize serious injury, loss of life, and damage to property.
