#MySafeSummerJob: Social Media Campaign Aimed at Young Workers
Every minute, one young worker under 25 is injured in the workplace. OSHA, NIOSH and a number of safety organizations have partnered on the #MySafeSummerJob campaign, which highlights a different safety message each week. New Video Available on Drug Exposure Dangers to First Responders
NIOSH just released a new video to help emergency responders understand the risks and to communicate what they can do to protect themselves from exposure to illicit drugs. Using actual police body cam footage, the video shows what happens when an officer is exposed to illicit drugs like fentanyl and provides recommendations on how other officers and responders can prevent it from happening to them. New Canadian Welding Standard
Recently, the seventh edition of the national standard CSA W117.2:19, Safety in Welding, Cutting and Allied Processes was published. The new edition has many progressive updates that reflect changes that have occurred in the Canadian industry since the first edition was published 45 years ago. Many of these updates are in response to the most recent reviews of injuries and fatalities within the industry. Learn more.

The craft brewing industry has grown exponentially in the past decade, and with that growth comes an increased risk of workplace hazards. To address the risk, WorkSafeBC has developed new health and safety resources for the craft-brewery industry. Read more.
Happy 100th Birthday to the Hard Hat
The first U.S. hard hat was produced in 1919. In honor of its one hundredth birthday, EHS Today penned an article with the inventor’s great granddaughter that recounts how this essential piece of safety equipment was invented and how it redefined workforce protection.
